Lufthansa Systems & Microsoft Flight Simulator Bring Professional Navigation to 15M Users
Lufthansa Systems and Microsoft Flight Simulator have partnered to bring professional navigation data to over 15 million users worldwide. This collaboration, led by Philipp Barzen, head of Lido at Lufthansa Systems, integrates precise data and maps from Lido into the popular flight simulation software.
The integration of Lido's professional navigation data and maps, including air traffic procedures like SID, STAR, and approach procedures, makes Microsoft Flight Simulator increasingly realistic. Users can now navigate using a new virtual Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), providing them with high-quality Lido maps and detailed navigation information, such as airports, waypoints, and approach procedures, based on the ARINC 424 standard.
The partnership also introduces a new version of Microsoft Flight Simulator, offering extended functions like exploring surroundings, varied scenery, and new missions. This elevates flight simulation, combining accurate Lido data with innovative functions for aviation enthusiasts. Astrid Röben, a member of the online editorial team of AERO INTERNATIONAL, highlights the significance of this collaboration in enhancing flight simulation realism.
With the integration of Lido's professional navigation data and maps, Microsoft Flight Simulator users can now enjoy a more realistic and professional flight experience. This collaboration between Lufthansa Systems and Microsoft Flight Simulator brings high-quality data, usually accessible only to professional pilots and flight schools, to over 15 million users worldwide.
