Lucid changes direction towards stocking Air Sedans in Canada and America.
In a strategic move to meet production goals and tackle market uncertainties, Lucid Motors has revamped its sales approach. The luxury electric vehicle manufacturer is now focusing on ramping up production of both the Air luxury sedan and the recently launched Gravity SUV.
Navigating through Lucid's online platform, buyers can still access the full vehicle configurator to place a custom order for the Air Pure, Touring, or Grand Touring. However, the configurator for the Air sedan is less prominently displayed, suggesting that Lucid is prioritizing inventory to reduce lead times and boost sales volumes.
The shift is reminiscent of Tesla's sales strategy, as both companies now direct customers to inventory listings on their websites. In Lucid's case, clicking "Order" on the main Air model page now leads to a searchable database of available inventory in both Canada and the United States.
Lucid's updated website prioritizes available inventory for the Air luxury sedan, including new, demo, and pre-owned units. For those looking to get their hands on a vehicle faster, Lucid prominently directs buyers to existing inventory with a "Get your car faster" button.
The Gravity SUV, which recently started production and deliveries, is only available through a custom order on the configurator. Lucid is offering up to $5,000 in stacked incentives for owners of qualifying ICE, hybrid, or Tesla vehicles without requiring a trade-in.
In the US, the Air Pure and Grand Touring models are eligible for discounts between $17,500 and $20,000 off, depending on vehicle ownership and location. The Air Touring model, on the other hand, is eligible for up to $22,500 in credits and bonuses, including the $7,500 federal EV tax credit.
These discounts are mostly applicable to vehicles already in stock, explaining Lucid's decision to spotlight inventory options. Eligible buyers in Canada can save up to C$12,600 when combining multiple promotions. Lucid is currently rolling out some of its most aggressive discounts to date in Canada, offering up to $7,500 off 2024 models and $2,600 off 2025 models for vehicles physically available at Lucid Studios in the US.
The strategic push comes amid market volatility and supply chain challenges. Lucid produced 3,863 vehicles and delivered 3,309 units in Q2 2025, a record and a year-over-year increase, driven largely by accelerating Gravity SUV production. Despite overcoming several supplier constraints, the 2025 total production outlook was adjusted down slightly to a range of 18,000 to 20,000 vehicles due to ongoing market and supply chain uncertainties.
As Lucid increases brand awareness and builds new revenue streams, including partnerships for robotaxi services using the Gravity model, the company aims to double production in 2025. A more affordable midsize model is planned for launch in late 2026.
While Lucid is intensifying production of both models, especially the Gravity SUV, and expanding business avenues, there is no confirmed information on current discounts for these vehicles in the US or Canadian markets as of mid-2025. Lucid emphasizes disciplined cost management and brand building rather than discounting in the current macroeconomic environment.
The strategic move by Lucid Motors extends beyond automotive production, as they are also leveraging technology to prioritize available inventory of the Air luxury sedan on their website, appealing to buyers seeking a faster purchase. In the realm of finance, Lucid is offering attractive discounts, incentives, and credits to boost sales and make their vehicles more affordable, especially for the Air Pure, Touring, and Grand Touring models in both the US and Canada.
