Lawo's 2024 Roadmap: Flexible Software Infrastructure and Improved Hardware Utilisation

Lawo, a leading provider of IP-based video and audio solutions, has announced its plans for 2024. The company aims to maximise flexibility with its software-based infrastructure, home Apps, and improve hardware utilisation.

Lawo's home Apps will be released in phases throughout 2024. Beta versions are expected in Q2, with full commercial availability planned for Q4. This software-based infrastructure supports various protocols and compression formats, including ST2110, SRT, NDI, JPEG XS, H.26x, and NDI.

The company offers two licensing options: perpetual licenses and function-agnostic subscriptions based on credits. This allows users to choose the best fit for their at home needs. Lawo's 2024 roadmap focuses on providing maximum flexibility with home Apps, which can run on-site, in a central data center, in the public cloud, or a combination of these.

To improve hardware utilisation, Lawo plans to use function-agnostic server-based compute power and elastic task allocation. Processing functionality can be licensed à la carte, enabling users to pay only for the features they need.

The company aims to provide users with choice in licensing and deployment options, supporting various protocols and compression formats.
