Internationally Acclaimed DJs and Artists Form Jury for AI Music Contest

Italian tech company Reply has announced the jury for the first-ever "AI Music Contest," a competition that unites Artificial Intelligence (AI) with live music performance. The jury is composed of esteemed DJs, artists, and industry professionals, including Seth Troxler and DJ Tennis, known for their innovative AI-infused live sets.

The competition, a joint venture between Reply and the Kappa FuturFestival, invites creatives to develop new audiovisual live experiences using AI. The goal is to showcase the creative potential of AI in the realm of live performances.

The jury consists of prominent figures from the electronic music and art scene. In addition to Seth Troxler and DJ Tennis, it includes Albertino, a renowned DJ, radio host, and artistic director of Radio m2o. Other jury members include music journalist and scene expert Damir Ivic, music producer and DJ Ali Demirel, who often incorporates AI-based visuals in his immersive live shows, and digital artist Annibale Siconolfi, known for his dystopian future visions.

Moreover, the jury includes a curatorial duo, Auronda Scalera and Alfredo Cramerotti, specialists in blending contemporary art and technology. Internationally exhibited Milanese artist Jacopo Di Cera, music producer and sound designer Ale Lippi, and Nicola Gotti, creative director and chief creative officer of Bitmama Reply, also form part of the jury.

Under the motto "Experience of a Beat," the competition encourages the creation of immersive experiences where AI, sound, visual art, and audience converge. Submissions can be made via the platform aimc.reply.com until June 1, 2025. The jury will evaluate the entries based on three criteria: creativity, integration of sound and image, and live performance suitability. Finalists will have the opportunity to perform live on the stage of the Kappa FuturFestival, set to take place in Turin from July 4 to 6, 2025. The winners will be announced at the festival's conclusion.

Ali Demirel, an internationally renowned music producer and DJ, expressed enthusiasm about the competition: "The AI Music Contest by Reply intriguingly juxtaposes technology and creativity. As an artist, I'm eager to delve into the new sonic expressions AI can offer in live performances, while critically examining new technologies and their creative potential. I believe this competition can pave new paths for artistic expression in electronic music and visual art. I'm looking forward to experiencing the finalists live at the Kappa FuturFestival."
