IT Sector Tops Austria's Highest Paying Industries

The IT sector has emerged as the highest paying industry in Austria, with an average annual salary of 60,705 €. This is according to anonymous salary data from employees, which also revealed that banking follows closely with an average salary of 59,040 € per year.

In Austria, the IT sector's top earners are key account managers and software architects. These roles are in high demand and offer strong career development opportunities, driving up salaries. In Germany and Switzerland, the IT sector is also among the top industries, reflecting the global demand for tech talent.

In banking, private bankers and business analysts lead the earnings. Other industries paying above average salaries include Research/Development, Medicine/Pharma, and Insurance. In the energy sector, key account managers and software architects are the leading earners, with the sector ranking third in terms of average salary at 58,853 €.

The IT sector's dominance in high salaries is not limited to Austria. It is also among the top industries in Germany and Switzerland. This trend reflects the global demand for tech talent and the high demand for innovative roles in the sector.
