Introducing an updated user interface for LYT's platform

In a significant move to streamline traffic flow management, LYT has unveiled a redesigned user experience for agencies across the country. The new platform, developed over the past year in collaboration with various agencies, aims to provide reliability, efficiency, and clarity.

Timothy Menard, Founder and CEO of LYT, emphasised these key aspects, stating that the improved LYT experience was built with a focus on reducing noise and providing clear, actionable information.

The new LYT platform offers a simplified, elegant look while providing as much detail as possible. Transit, public safety, and public works teams can now manage bus priority, emergency response, and snowplow operations in one place. This unified platform enables traffic teams to manage these operations all through a single integrated system.

A recent nationwide survey of transit professionals revealed that 39% of respondents described their current dashboards as only moderately user-friendly, with frustrations. The survey also showed that 43% of respondents cited a "lack of real-time data accuracy" and the need to "manually combine data from one system to another" as their biggest frustrations.

To address these concerns, the new LYT platform provides real-time visibility and reporting, allowing teams to track vehicles, signals, and priority events live. Route and intersection-level insights can be generated without extra manual work.

Moreover, 58% of respondents believe a more connected, user-friendly solution would significantly improve their ability to respond to emergencies. LYT's new experience allows cities to prioritise buses, first responders, snow plows, and high-capacity rail transport.

The platform connects with existing signal infrastructure and runs in the cloud, reducing the need for roadside hardware and ongoing field maintenance. This cloud-based solution also offers real-time visibility and reporting, enabling teams to make informed decisions quickly.

Agencies can start with transit and expand to emergency vehicle or snowplow priority as their needs grow with the new LYT platform. The platform features a clean interface, updated visuals, and a more intuitive map view for faster information retrieval and action.

53% of respondents said they are very likely to consider a new dashboard that makes accessing and sharing data easier. The survey found that 44% of respondents said fragmented information moderately limits their view of operations, while 29% called it a significant barrier. Leaders in agencies requested tools that are easier to use, provide more accurate real-time information, and bring operations together in one place.

With the new LYT experience, cities can now manage their traffic flow more efficiently, respond to emergencies more effectively, and make data-driven decisions to improve their operations.
