The All New Zeekr 001, launched on February 27, has made a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. In its first month, the cumulative firm orders for this innovative vehicle exceeded 30,000 units. On March 31, the number of firm orders hit a new single-day high, exceeding 2,500 units.
The Zeekr 001 is equipped with CATL's Qilin and Shenxing batteries, showcasing cutting-edge battery technology. The CATL Qilin battery offers energy density and space utilization innovations, enabling a pure electric range exceeding 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) on China's test cycle. The Qilin battery pack boasts a 72% space utilization rate and incorporates advanced cooling technology to enhance performance and longevity.
On the other hand, the CATL Shenxing battery, a second-generation Shenxing Superfast Charging Battery, emphasizes superfast charging capability. It has a peak charging rate of 12C, enabling ultra-fast charging with a power capacity of 1.3 megawatts. This battery allows achieving a 520 km range with just a 5-minute charge.
The Zeekr 001 is the first vehicle to use these batteries in mass production, marking a significant advancement in Chinese EV technology regarding range and charging performance. Both batteries are integral to providing the Zeekr 001 with its market-leading specifications, combining rapid charging (as fast as several minutes for hundreds of km) and extended range capabilities exceeding 1,000 km under standardized test cycles.
The All New Zeekr 001 comes in four models, each with its unique features. The vehicle's size is 4977/1999/1545 (1533) mm with a 3005 mm wheelbase. The top speed is 240 km/h, and it has a rear-wheel drive option with a 0 - 100 km/h acceleration of 5.9 sec, while the WE version offers a four-wheel drive with an acceleration of 3.5 sec.
The new Zeekr 001's cockpit is paired with Huawei's HiCar system, supporting simultaneous connection of two mobile phones. While one mobile phone is connected to the HiCar system, the second mobile phone can connect to the vehicle's Bluetooth system. Both mobile phones can remain connected at the same time in the new Zeekr 001.
The All New Zeekr 001 comes standard with an 800V high-voltage platform, ensuring efficient energy use and rapid charging. Seven driving modes are supported: comfort, economy, sport, snow, sand, off-road, and personalize.
Existing customers who place an order before March 31st will receive a lifetime free ZAD (Zeekr Assisted Drive) intelligent driving assistance system worth 35,000 yuan (4,900 USD). The price range for the All New Zeekr 001 is 269,000 - 329,000 yuan (37,500 - 46,300 USD). With its blend of ultra-long range, rapid charging, high space utilization, and advanced material technologies, the Zeekr 001 offers a premium electric vehicle experience.
