Innovative, Eco-Friendly Adhesion with cutting-edge technology
In a bid to help production companies lower costs and advance sustainability, Robatech has developed a new generation of adhesive application systems. The flagship product, the Alpha adhesive melter, is designed to offer intuitive operation, energy efficiency, and a high melting capacity.
The Alpha adhesive melter comes with a relatively small tank (4.1 or 6.8 litres) and a melting capacity of 8 kg/h or 12.5 kg/h. It is backward compatible with heated hoses and application heads dating back to the year 2000, making it a versatile solution for various production settings.
One of the key features of the Alpha adhesive melter is its compatibility with the Volta electric application head. This innovative head consumes 60% less energy than conventional pneumatic heads, contributing significantly to energy savings. The Volta head also features an integrated stitching function that breaks up adhesive beads into shorter beads or dots, improving the precision of adhesive application.
The quality and precision of adhesive application are further enhanced by the heated Performa hose, developed by Robatech. This hose features a high-tech insulation layer that reduces energy consumption by 45% compared to conventional heated hoses. The Performa hose also addresses the challenge of maintaining consistent temperature along the hose length, ensuring consistent adhesive application quality.
PrimeConnect, an innovative plug-in coupling in the Performa heated hose, eliminates thermal bridges at both ends of the hose, further improving energy efficiency.
Rolf Gräser, industry manager for Packaging at Robatech, explains that the development focus was on the use of robust, energy-efficient components and a high melting capacity. He adds that the Volta electric application head offers exceptional durability, with over two billion operating cycles.
Existing systems can be upgraded without replacing all components, making it an accessible solution for companies looking to modernize their gluing systems step by step. Robatech recommends pairing the Volta electric application head with the Alpha adhesive melter for optimal results.
Recent adopters of the Robatech system to reduce adhesive and energy consumption include leading packaging and label manufacturers in Europe and North America. While specific company names have not been publicly disclosed, the positive response indicates a growing trend towards sustainable and cost-effective adhesive application systems.
The integrated Robatech Control System (RCS) simplifies system integration via standardized interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with existing packaging machines. Moreover, the Volta electric application head requires no changes to the packaging machine's control system, further reducing the complexity of the upgrade process.
In summary, Robatech's new generation of adhesive application systems offers a sustainable and cost-effective solution for packaging companies. With features such as energy-efficient components, high melting capacity, and intuitive operation, the Alpha adhesive melter and Volta electric application head are poised to revolutionize the adhesive application industry.
