Ingrasys, a subsidiary of Hon Hai, secures a property in Taoyuan for their operations.
Ingrasys Technology Inc, a subsidiary of Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn), is aggressively expanding its AI server production capabilities with strategic investments across Taiwan and the United States. This move aligns with Foxconn’s pivot towards growth areas in AI infrastructure and high-performance computing, as the company looks to diversify beyond its traditional smartphone assembly dominance.
In Taiwan, Ingrasys has leased a new facility in the Farglory Free Trade Zone in Taoyuan's Dayuan District. The 60-month lease, worth NT$657 million (approximately US$22.8 million), covers eight floors in a factory complex, spanning over 32,500 square meters. This significant expansion will boost AI server output, complementing ongoing production lines in Taoyuan’s Luzhu District and Hsinchu County’s Hukou Township.
Ingrasys also has a presence in Houston, Texas, where it has made a US$142 million investment through its U.S. subsidiary to acquire land and a factory. This move supports the company's global diversification strategy for production beyond Taiwan. Additionally, Ingrasys has acquired a campus in Sunnyvale, California, although detailed plans for the site have not been publicly disclosed. Industry experts expect the Sunnyvale site to be used for further expansion of AI hardware development and manufacturing.
The lease for the facility in Taoyuan consists of two sections: floors 1 to 4 (4,803.41 ping) and floors 5 to 8 (5,042.76 ping). The two sections will be leased at a monthly rate of NT$1,050 per ping. It's worth noting that Hon Hai Precision Industry Co already has operations in the free trade zone.
This multi-location expansion underscores Ingrasys' commitment to addressing the rapidly growing AI server market, projected to exceed NT$1 trillion in revenue in 2025. Taiwan remains a crucial hub for global AI hardware infrastructure, and Ingrasys' investment in Taoyuan and Hsinchu enhances its competitive position amid rising U.S. export demands and local industrial development. The expansion in Houston and Sunnyvale is part of a broader global diversification of Foxconn/Ingrasys production lines, reinforcing their commitment to meeting the demands of the burgeoning AI market.
