Headline Reframed: Leader in Tech, Specializing in WordPress Development
Breadstack Solutions, a global leader in e-commerce enablement, is seeking a skilled and experienced Tech Lead for its WordPress Development team. This remote role focuses on creating personalized and scalable digital experiences for its clients.
Responsibilities
As the Tech Lead, you will serve as the technical authority on all WordPress projects, providing architectural direction and technical mentorship to the development team. You will guide and lead a talented team of WordPress developers, acting as the “developer of last resort” to resolve critical bugs, performance issues, and outages.
Ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of the WordPress infrastructure is a key responsibility. You will enforce development standards and best practices across all WordPress workstreams, collaborate with Product, Design, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end technical solutions, and drive the evolution of the WordPress ecosystem within the company.
Your preferred work hours are from 2 AM to 10 AM PT, Monday to Friday. This is a global-impact, mission-critical role that reports to the Director of Technology.
Requirements
With at least 3+ years of hands-on experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins, you will bring expert-level proficiency in PHP, SQL, MVC, OOP, WordPress API & REST API, ACF & ACF Blocks, JavaScript (vanilla, jQuery, AJAX), Node.js, npm, Gulp, SCSS, Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, Composer, Git (command line) including merging, conflict resolution, rebasing, site optimization, debugging, and performance tuning (e.g., Lighthouse scores), translating design into pixel-perfect, responsive frontends, integrating third-party APIs and working with JSON, and emergency recovery and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes is also beneficial. You will demonstrate strong soft skills, including clear, confident technical communication, empathetic mentorship and team leadership, the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize under pressure, and a natural curiosity and drive to raise technical standards. Excellent written and verbal English skills are essential.
As the Tech Lead, you will be responsible for architecting and driving the evolution of Breadstack's WordPress ecosystem, ensuring site stability, performance, and scalability, conducting code reviews, setting technical direction, and upholding Breadstack engineering standards. You will also lead and mentor a distributed team of WordPress developers.
