Gulf Cryo Appoints Ranjith Nair as New CEO for Expansion Push
Gulf Cryo has appointed Ranjith Nair as its new CEO, effective October 1, 2023. The appointment comes as the company focuses on strategic planning and expansion, with recent partnerships and investments indicating a proactive approach to growth. Nair succeeds Mike Huggon, who retired after a 45-year career in the industrial gases sector.
Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji, the Chairman of the Board of Gulf Cryo since 2019, has overseen the transition. Nair brings extensive regional understanding to the role, having worked in the Middle East for many years at Air Liquide. With over 25 years of experience in industrial gases, engineering, and operations, Nair has held various leadership roles across AMEI, APAC, and the Americas during his time at Air Liquide.
Gulf Cryo has also secured a major equity stake from Mumtalakat and is exploring a possible public listing with the help of Rothschild & Co. These moves suggest a commitment to strengthening the company's financial position and increasing its visibility in the market.
