Guide for Enrolling in the Trial Version of the USPS 'Informed Delivery' Mobile Application
Swiping through your mailbox day-to-day ain't for everyone. That's why I dig the USPS' "Informed Delivery" feature. When you sign up, they'll shoot you an email every day, showing all the mail and packages coming your way that day (grayscale, address-side only, btw). If you're all about the mystery of opening your mailbox, then this ain't your jam. But for the rest of us, it's a cool way to stay on top of our mail game.
Now, the USPS is beefing up the feature with a dedicated Informed Delivery app. They're working on this bad boy to send push notifications when mail and packages are on their way, and to allow you to share tracking info with others. Say you've sent a package to a mate, you could pass along the tracking info straight from the app.
It kinda feels like the traditional Informed Delivery in an app format, but with push notifications—which is handy, since my daily Informed Delivery emails usually get lost in my Gmail inbox.
But don't go searching for the Informed Delivery app in the AppStore, because the USPS is still cooking it up. However, if you're eager to get a taste early (assuming the beta ain't filled to the brim), here's how:
