German Authorities Nab International Fraudsters, Recover $100k in Crypto
Authorities in Germany have successfully apprehended fraudsters who targeted a local company, promising a Swiss investment deal worth millions. The case, involving the Ravensburg and Sigmaringen police, has resulted in the recovery of over 100,000 US dollars in crypto.
The complex operation was a joint effort by Friedrichshafen's Criminal Police and the Hechingen Public Prosecutor's Office. The fraudsters, employing sophisticated tactics, operated internationally using various cryptocurrencies to conceal their ill-gotten gains. The company, lured by the promise of a Swiss investor for a major project, transferred a six-figure sum in crypto to the criminals.
The Ravensburg Police Headquarters, particularly the Prevention Department and Polizeihauptkommissar Stefan Groß, played a crucial role in the investigation. Groß is available for further information and inquiries. The Criminal Police warns that these fraudsters do not discriminate, targeting even larger companies with diverse crypto scams.
Following a thorough investigation, the police have secured over 100,000 US dollars in crypto. This significant recovery is a testament to the successful collaboration between the Ravensburg and Sigmaringen police and their commitment to combating international crypto fraud.
