Overwatch Imaging, a leading innovator in autonomous airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions, has raised $6 million in new venture capital financing. This investment will accelerate the go-to-market and partner-driven expansion of their AI-powered Automated Sensor Operator (ASO) software.

The funding round was led by Squadra Ventures, with participation from SEMCAP AI, the Elevate Oregon Venture Direct Fund, and Edo Capital. Guy Filippelli, Managing Partner at Squadra Ventures, expressed his support for Overwatch Imaging's ASO technology, stating that it will catapult currently underutilized assets across multiple departments into the future, particularly in border control, the Indo-Pacific, and domestic applications.

Deployed globally on both piloted aircraft and drones, Overwatch Imaging's Smart Sensors efficiently capture, process, and deliver real-time, wide-area intelligence in demanding environments. The ASO software enables real-time autonomy for both new and existing electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) video imaging systems, significantly reducing operator workload while offering enhanced detection capabilities.

Overwatch Imaging's CEO, Greg Davis, stated that the funding will enable the company to grow its team, expand partnerships, and bring ASO to more missions with the US government, state and local agencies, and global customers. By automating geospatial intelligence collection and analysis, Overwatch Imaging’s ASO software helps national security and emergency management agencies make more informed and timely decisions, which is critical for rapid response and effective monitoring.

The investment acknowledges the significant potential for AI and autonomy to transform ISR operations within the national security and emergency management sectors. SEMCAP AI, one of the investors, cited the company's innovative work in improving and automating geospatial intelligence as the reason for their investment. They aim to partner with Overwatch Imaging to accelerate growth and success as they transform the way time-critical intelligence is collected and analyzed.

With this investment, Overwatch Imaging will continue to advance its Smart Sensors, which integrate multispectral imaging hardware with ASO software for a range of applications. The company's goal is to deliver a future where real-time, autonomous ISR capabilities are accessible to all.
