Flying Cars Take Off: XPeng Aims for 2026 Mass Production
The future of transportation is taking to the skies. China and the US are already testing flying car prototypes, with Russia and Kazakhstan showing interest. XPeng Motors plans to start mass production of flights by 2026, while Alef Aeronautics has already demonstrated a successful public flight.
XPeng Motors, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, aims to revolutionise the industry by 2026. They plan to be the first to mass-produce flying cars, integrating AI into the flight control system for enhanced safety and convenience.
Meanwhile, Russia's Filatov Design-Construction Bureau has unveiled a concept for a flying car with foldable propellers and a safety capsule. This follows Alef Aeronautics' successful public flight of its electric vehicle that can take off vertically and overcome obstacles. The Model A prototype can travel 350 km on the road and fly up to 180 km on a single charge, priced at around $300,000.
Kazakhstan, while not yet manufacturing flying vehicles, is taking steps towards Urban Air Mobility. It plans to launch air routes between Alatau and Almaty, marking its first foray into this futuristic mode of transport.
Flights, once a futuristic dream, are now becoming a reality. With companies like XPeng and Alef leading the way, and countries like China, the US, Russia, and Kazakhstan investing in the technology, the skies could soon be filled with these innovative vehicles.
