Figma Shares Surge 17.4% After ChatGPT Integration

Figma's shares surged by 17.4% on Wednesday, riding the wave of a broader market uptick. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indices gained 0.6% and 1.1% respectively. The boost came after a significant announcement from OpenAI, which integrated its popular AI platform, ChatGPT, with Figma.

Figma, an AI-focused design platform, has integrated with ChatGPT, allowing users to interact with apps using voice commands. This new feature lets users find and launch apps by simply asking for them by name and complete actions within Figma's interface. The integration, announced by OpenAI's chief Sam Altman at Figma's DevDay conference, has sparked excitement among investors.

OpenAI estimates that around 800 million people use ChatGPT, potentially expanding Figma's user base significantly. Despite the optimism, an analyst has advised caution, suggesting Figma's current valuation may be stretched and advising investors to avoid the stock.
