FIDIC, Ukraine Sign Five-Year Pact for Infrastructure Reform and Reconstruction
FIDIC, the global federation of consulting engineers, has signed a five-year strategic cooperation agreement with Ukraine's Ministry for Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development. This pact aims to support Ukraine's reconstruction and reform efforts, particularly in procurement and project implementation.
Dr Nelson Ogunshakin, CEO of FIDIC, expressed delight in facilitating best practice exchange between Ukrainian and international infrastructure professionals. The agreement also aims to develop Ukraine's internal market for professional engineering services and project management.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov welcomed the support, expressing gratitude for the confidence shown in the agreement's benefits. The parties will collaborate to increase Ukraine's institutional potential for joint IFI infrastructure projects. FIDIC will assist in the development of National Particular Conditions for use with FIDIC contracts in Ukraine.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has already signed a similar five-year agreement with Ukraine, demonstrating international commitment to the country's reconstruction and reform.
With FIDIC's expertise and global network, Ukraine stands to gain significantly from this strategic cooperation. The agreement paves the way for improved infrastructure reconstruction and reform, ultimately contributing to Ukraine's recovery and growth.
