HP revealed fresh additions to their ZBook professional series on Tuesday, headlined by the top-tier ZBook Fury G1i mobile workstations.

Experienced laptop tester astounded by the powerful performance of the latest HP ZBook Fury model. Remarkable design leaves me in awe.

The mighty HP ZBook Fury G1i: a game-changer for power users

Get ready to buckle up, designers, architects, scientists, and engineers – HP's newest ZBook Fury G1i mobile workstations are here, redefining what power means for heavy-duty tasks.

At HP Amplify this week, these flagship laptops made their grand entrance, boasting desktop-class Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors and the mighty Nvidia RTX Blackwell PRO GPUs, leaving us in awe of their sheer power.

Embrace Blackwell graphics and CPU options galore

HP offers multiple configuration options for the ZBook Fury G1i, with 16 and 18-inch formats available. The ZBook Fury 16 G1i caters to a wider range of mid-range configuration choices, whereas the more robust 18-inch workstation shines with CPU options that scale up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX.

These laptops boast radical GPU options, ranging from integrated Intel Arc GPUs all the way to the powerful Nvidia Blackwell PRO series. To make things even sweeter, RAM can be upgraded to192GB of DDR5, and storage choices range from 512GB to 4TB.

The ZBook Fury 16 G1i also offers an impressive array of display choices, from a 16-inch, 1920 x 1200, anti-glare panel to a 16-inch, 120Hz, 3480 x 2400, DreamColor display. Meanwhile, the Fury 18 G1i's lone panel configuration is an 18-inch, 165Hz, 2560 x 1600, LED screen.

Prepare for a powerhouse without the burn

With such impressive hardware, the ZBook Fury G1i laptops might easily become warmer than a summer day on the beach. To prevent overheating while running at 150W or 200W of power, HP integrates its new Vaporforce Thermal solution to cool down the laptops effectively.

But that's not all! Say goodbye to lengthy repair times or upgrades thanks to the handy quick latch feature. This innovative design allows users to swiftly upgrade the RAM, storage, and even replace the battery, extending the life cycle of the laptops.

Keep a lid on your expectations (temporarily)

While we eagerly await the release of these extraordinary machines, HP hasn't yet disclosed pricing details or a specific ship date. However, these powerhouses are expected to hit stores in Spring 2025. Stay tuned for more!

Handy for big businesses and individuals alike

Whether you're part of a design firm or a solo artist, the ZBook Fury G1i laptops can make your digital world run smoother. Simple upgrades can help you keep your laptop running for a decade instead of having to upgrade every few years. Plus, the quick latch feature makes repairs and maintenance a breeze, saving you both time and money.

As someone who personally held on to their 2010 MacBook Pro until 2022, I appreciate the convenience of easy upgrades when working with older tech.

Taking on the benchmark challenge

When I got a chance to inspect the new ZBook Fury workstations during a press preview for Amplify, my excitement overwhelmed me. I'm a hobbyist photographer, taking photos primarily underwater, and I've been managing just fine with the ultra-portable ZBook Studio.

It's safe to say that I will need to upgrade my testing process for workstations before getting a chance to put the new ZBook Fury to the test. While I don't have the right tools to push this beast past its limits, one thing's for sure – it will keep even the most avid gamer's computer running for dust.

The future is bright for these new workstations

As far as specific benchmark scores, reputable sources such as PugetBench or SpecWorkstation will deliver the goods when they get their hands on the HP ZBook Fury G1i. For now, when it comes to desktop-class power and cutting-edge graphics, the ZBook Fury G1i is undoubtedly a game-changer for heavy-duty applications.
