Expensive Asus AMOLED liquid cooling system experiences thermals degradation issues; company provides replacement for affected devices

Sporting a captivating design, the Asus ROG Ryuo IV SLC 360 ARGB easily stands out as one of the snazzier AIO (All-In-One) liquid coolers on the market. It's also believed to rival the crème de la crème of CPU coolers. But, Asus has recognized that some versions of this cooler have experienced less-than-optimal thermal performance. As a result, the company is readily providing free replacements for those impacted.
A potential pitfall for some ROG Ryuo IV SLC 360 ARGB liquid coolers is their reduced thermal efficiency when subjected to prolonged periods of high temperatures, typically exceeding 90 degrees Celsius for around 72 hours or more. However, in typical conditions that hover between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius, the cooling performance of the ROG Ryuo IV SLC 360 ARGB remains consistent.
Asus explains that the testing procedure consists of an industry-standard 72-hour aging test at 70 degrees Celsius. So, operating the cooler at temperatures surpassing 90 degrees Celsius for such extended periods isn't meant to be part of the normal usage. Nevertheless, enthusiasts and overclockers often stretch their processor's overclocks to the limit during extensive testing periods.
While Asus hasn't offered a detailed explanation for the problem with the ROG Ryuo IV SLC 360 ARGB, it's safe to guess that it may be a manufacturing issue. Interestingly, this issue isn't confined to a select few units. The trouble seems to impact devices with serial numbers commencing with T4, and the digits in positions 9 to 12 should fall within these ranges:
- 1689 - 1932
- 2025 - 2888
- 2961 - 2998
- 3193 - 3242
