The electric vehicle giant, Tesla, has expanded its Model Y lineup with the introduction of a seven-seater variant in Europe. This extended version, known as the Model Y L, serves markets like China and the US, offering an extended wheelbase for more space, including a third row. The seven-seater Model Y is produced at the German Gigafactory.

The seven-seater option is currently only available for the Model Y with the large battery and all-wheel drive (LR AWD). This new addition comes in both black and white interiors, with an additional cost of €2,500 for the seven-seat feature. For those opting for the white interior, an additional €1,200 is charged.

Since June, Tesla has been offering a €6,000 discount on all pre-produced Model Ys. However, this discount cannot be combined with other offers. Interestingly, choosing the seven-seater option does not affect the 0% interest financing rate, which continues to be available for the Model Y LR AWD in Europe, including Germany.

As of Tuesday, there were no Model Y LR AWD seven-seaters in the German inventory. However, the seven-seat Model Y is available for order in Europe, with first deliveries expected in the fourth quarter. As of Tuesday morning, the German info pages did not advertise the possibility of ordering a seven-seat Model Y.

In a move to encourage orders, Tesla offers a referral code that can save €1,000 on the order of any Model Y. With these discounts and financing options, the price of the seven-seat Model Y LR AWD remains competitive, coming in at €57,490, including a delivery fee of €980.

It's worth noting that the seven-seat Model Y, despite offering an extended wheelbase, does not appear to offer significantly more room compared to the US version. Nonetheless, this new variant provides an attractive alternative to the Tesla Model X, particularly for those seeking a seven-seater electric vehicle.

In summary, Tesla's introduction of the seven-seater Model Y in Europe offers consumers an extended wheelbase option, competitive pricing, and attractive financing deals. With first deliveries expected in the fourth quarter, interested buyers can look forward to this new addition to the Model Y lineup.
