Optus and Devo Technology Partner to Enhance Australia's Cybersecurity Landscape

Enterprise and mid-market clients now have access to a threat monitoring service provided by Optus.

In a bid to bolster the cybersecurity offerings for businesses, Optus has formed a partnership with Devo Technology. This partnership aims to introduce an around-the-clock threat monitoring service in Australia, providing an additional layer of protection to businesses' cyber ecosystems at a telecommunications network level.

The service integrates Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR), and User and Entity Behaviour Analytics (UEBA) through AI and ML. This integration enables the team to leverage automation, quickly deploying specific countermeasures when potential threats are detected.

The partnership uses the Devo Security Data Platform for real-time visibility of potential network threats. The platform correlates and analyses logs ingested from network-connected devices and threat intelligence gathered worldwide. Security alert tickets are created in the Optus AI-enabled ITSM Nucleus platform in near real-time. These tickets can be prioritized and triaged by Optus' Security Operation Centre, which is on call 24/7.

Nicky Choo, the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Devo Technology, emphasised the importance of businesses having the right technology, people, and processes in place to combat cybercrime and keep their businesses safe. She stated that this partnership would provide shared customers with peace of mind, knowing that a team of experts is dedicated to helping them achieve their security goals.

Optus has made further investments into its business security offering ecosystem with the addition of the Managed Threat Monitoring Service. By partnering with various top security vendors, Optus ensures that enterprise customers have the necessary support to act quickly and identify threats.

The system targets Optus's enterprise and mid-market business customers, offering them services and insights into their organisation's security posture. The new automated threat monitoring system operates alongside Optus's Network Operation Centre and Security Operation Centre.

Danny Price, a representative from Optus, underscored the importance of investing in new technology due to the evolving threat landscape. He expressed his confidence that this partnership would significantly enhance the security offerings for Optus's business customers.

With this partnership, Optus and Devo Technology aim to set a new standard for cybersecurity in Australia, providing businesses with the tools they need to stay safe in an increasingly complex digital world.
