Elon Musk Announces Refocus on Core Businesses after X Outage

In a recent developments, Elon Musk, the CEO of X (formerly Twitter), Tesla, SpaceX, and the AI developer xAI with the chatbot Grok, has announced a shift in focus towards his core companies. This decision comes after a two-hour outage on X's online service, which highlighted the need for operational improvements.

Musk took to Twitter to share his new focus, emphasizing the need for "larger operational improvements" in light of the outage on X's platform. He further informed that he would be allocating more time to his companies, even resorting to sleeping in conference, server, and factory rooms.

The outage on X occurred around 3 PM CEST, and the service was restored close to 5 PM, working largely normally. Musk's increased involvement in government work under President Trump's administration, aiming to reduce government expenditures, might have contributed to his recent focus on X. However, the entrepreneur has recently announced that he will scale back this activity.

Meanwhile, SpaceX is planning to send its new giant rocket, Starship, back into space next week. The top stage of the rocket exploded during both previous test flights. Musk has made it clear that he needs to concentrate on X and SpaceX, especially the upcoming Starship launch, as both companies require his attention to bring critical technologies to market.

In the past, Musk has been a driving force behind the government department for state efficiency (Doge) under Trump's administration. His role led to a focus on reducing costs by pushing for massive cuts in the US government apparatus. However, this aspect of his work seems to be taking a backseat now.
