Electric SUV Model Polestar 3 Achieves Record-Breaking Longest Journey on Single Charge, Recognized by Guinness World Records
In an impressive display of electric vehicle (EV) prowess, the Polestar 3 Long Range Single-Engine variant has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest journey travelled by an electric SUV on a single charge.
The record-breaking journey took place on UK public roads in August 2025, covering a distance of 581.3 miles (935.44 kilometers). The feat was verified by Guinness World Records, and the vehicle used was largely unmodified, with standard 20-inch wheels and Michelin Sport 4 EV tires.
The drivers—Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker—rotated every three hours to maintain alertness during the 22 hours 57 minutes drive. The Polestar 3 achieved this distance with 20% battery capacity still remaining when it matched its official WLTP range (438 miles/706 km), plus an additional 8 miles after the battery display showed 0%.
The efficiency during the run was about 12.1 kWh/100 km (19.5 kWh/100 miles), significantly better than average EV efficiency. Webfleet provided independent verified video footage, odometer readings, battery level data, and GPS readings for the verification process.
This record surpasses the previous benchmark by 160 km (99 miles), making the Polestar 3 the current world leader in the electric SUV class. While other electric vehicles like the Lucid Air have achieved longer single-charge distances, these are not SUVs and are different vehicle categories.
The Polestar 3's record-setting journey is a testament to the capabilities of electric SUVs and the advancements in EV technology. This achievement is sure to inspire other manufacturers to push the boundaries even further in the future.
