The Toyota bZ3, the Japanese automaker's first all-electric sedan, has officially been launched in China. Produced by Toyota's joint venture in China, FAW Toyota, the bZ3 is a 4-door, 5-seat sedan, classified as a mid-size car.

## Key Features and Specifications

The bZ3 boasts a sleek design with dimensions of 4,725 mm in length, 1,835 mm in width, and 1,475 mm in height, featuring a wheelbase of 2,880 mm and a wind resistance coefficient of 0.218 cd. It is equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor, available in 135 kW and 180 kW sizes, both producing a peak torque of 303 Nm.

The vehicle is powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP) of 65.28 kWh, offering a CLTC range of 616 km. The bZ3 delivers a maximum power of 180 kW and a maximum torque of 303 N·m. It features an acceleration time of 3.4 seconds from 0 to 50 km/h and a top speed of 160 km/h.

The bZ3 includes advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning systems, and a user-friendly infotainment system. It offers a spacious cabin for passengers and cargo, providing a comfortable driving experience.

## Charging Details

While the exact charging time for the Toyota bZ3 is not detailed, fast charging is typically efficient up to 80% of the battery capacity. After this point, charging slows down to prevent overheating and maintain battery longevity. The bZ3 supports fast charging, taking 27 minutes to replenish energy from 30 percent to 80 percent on a DC charge.

Pre-sales of the bZ3 began on March 6, 2023, with a price range of RMB 169,800 - 199,800. As of April 16, 2023, orders for the bZ3 reached 5,000 units. FAW Toyota offered three versions of the bZ3 at the launch event, with starting prices of RMB 169,800, 189,800, and 199,800 respectively.
