Electric Isuzu D-Max model offers a range of 163 miles and can tow 3.5 tonnes.
The much-anticipated Isuzu D-Max EV is set to hit the market at the end of this year, with orders opening for the electric 4x4 pick-up. This new addition to Isuzu's lineup promises impressive features, including permanent all-wheel drive and a competitive price point.
The entry-level D-Max eDL40 model offers a digital driver display and dual-zone climate control, ensuring a comfortable driving experience. It also boasts heated front seats and front and rear parking sensors for added convenience. One of the standout features is the Rough Terrain Mode, designed for optimal performance on challenging off-road conditions.
The Isuzu D-Max EV retains the brand's renowned off-road ability, with a clearance of 210mm and a towing capacity of up to 3.5-tonnes. It also has a wading depth of 600mm, making it suitable for various terrains and weather conditions.
In terms of technology, the D-Max EV is equipped with a 66.9kWh lithium-ion NMC battery and a 9-inch infotainment screen in the eV-Cross spec. It also features an eight-speaker sound system and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, enhancing the in-car experience.
The D-Max EV generates a combined 188bhp and 240lb ft from dual electric motors, providing a powerful driving experience. Rapid charging speeds peak at 50kW, enabling the D-Max EV to recharge from 10-20% to 80% in approximately one hour. This makes it suitable for practical, moderate-speed recharging during stops. While charging fully from 0 to 100% via slower AC charging takes about 10 hours, the rapid charging window is focused primarily on the 10-80% range for efficient turnaround.
The Isuzu D-Max EV comes with a 125,000 mile, five-year warranty including five years roadside assistance, offering peace of mind to potential buyers. Stepping up to the eV-Cross spec for the D-Max EV costs an additional £2,000, which includes leather upholstery and an upgrade to an eight-speaker sound system.
