Ecocool Emphasizes Intelligent Packaging with Minimal Environmental Impact at Transport Logistic 2025

At this year's Transport Logistic in Munich, Ecocool GmbH unveiled a range of **new sustainable packaging solutions** tailored for **temperature-controlled shipping,** particularly for pharmaceutical transports. These innovative offerings aim to ensure the safe and temperature-stable transport of sensitive goods while promoting sustainability in packaging materials and design.

One of the key highlights is the introduction of **Thermal hoods,** such as the Eco-Xtreme thermal hood, designed for the temperature range between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius and suitable for transshipment processes in extreme weather conditions. For temperature-critical transports by sea freight, Ecocool has further developed the Eco-Safe thermal hood, combined with Waterblankets for improved protection during longer interim storage at the quay.

In terms of **boxes,** Ecocool is launching an insulation packaging made from corn starch, called Green Cell Foam transport box, which is biodegradable, compostable, and CO-neutral. These boxes offer high insulation performance, as proven in climate chamber tests. For transport in sea containers, Ecocool offers a foldable, space-saving container insulation that reduces temperatures up to ten degrees Celsius and reduces condensation formation.

The company also emphasizes the importance of **cargo monitoring** in maintaining the integrity of temperature-sensitive goods. Ecocool offers real-time devices with various sensors for consistent cargo monitoring, and falling prices are making these solutions increasingly attractive for smaller shippers. The Eco-Breath thermal hood is showcased for airport transshipment, consisting of a bilaterally reflective, microporous material for efficient protection against heat and humidity.

Moreover, Ecocool's second new development, Thermo Airsafe, combines a double-layered, metallized insulating film with a compact packaging device that inflates air into the chambers, creating a stable insulation layer with minimal material usage. For a standard-sized box measuring 400 x 300 x 250 millimeters, only 39 grams of insulating material is required with Thermo Airsafe.

These new developments primarily focus on sustainability and digital monitoring. Managing Director Dr. Florian Siedenburg emphasizes that cargo monitoring is another building block of Ecocool's comprehensive solutions for the protection of temperature-sensitive goods. One roll of Thermo Airsafe insulating material is sufficient to insulate over 200 shipping boxes.

Ecocool GmbH's expanded portfolio for temperature-controlled shipping at this year's Transport Logistic in Munich underscores their commitment to providing comprehensive, eco-friendly packaging that integrates thermal protection with modern monitoring technology to optimize cold chain logistics sustainably.

  1. In conjunction with their expanded portfolio for temperature-controlled shipping, Ecocool GmbH also showcases developments in the field of finance, offering affordable real-time cargo monitoring devices for smaller shippers.
  2. The technology sector is not left behind at Ecocool GmbH, as they introduce Thermo Airsafe, a compact and lightweight packaging device that combines a double-layered, metallized insulating film with inflatable chambers, promoting minimal material usage in their temperature-controlled shipping solutions.
