Dubai Hosts Premiere Film and Gaming Conference to Spur Regional Media Creativity
Dubai Sets to Debut First-Ever Film and Gaming Forum as Part of Arab Media Summit 2025
The Dubai Films and Games Commission will host a major film and gaming conference from May 26 to 28, 2025. The first-ever Film and Gaming Forum will occur under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, serving as a strategic expansion of the Arab Media Summit's agenda. The event aims to solidify Dubai's position as a global leader in media and content creation.
The Forum will unfold at the Dubai World Trade Centre during the three-day Arab Media Summit, which involves over 175 sessions and 35 workshops, with more than 6,000 participants and 300 speakers. The Summit focuses on media innovation, digital technologies, and emerging trends in media consumption.
The Film and Gaming Forum's schedule includes a wide range of sessions, with key discussions on gaming careers, women in cinema, drama in the digital age, and Emirati filmmaking's future. Notable participants include industry titans such as Amazon, Netflix, Square Enix, and Olsberg SPI, as well as renowned figures like Saif Ali Khan and Arab talents Ahmed El Sakka and Laila Abdallah.
Panel discussions, expert-led talks, and strategic partnerships are on the agenda for the Film and Gaming Forum. One significant session, "The Future of Gaming: From Passion to Profession," features Mohammed Al Albsimi, Abdullah bin Baz, and Mona Al Falasi. Jassim Alsheheimi will moderate the discussion.
Another essential, collaborative session focusing on women in film and cinema will involve the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC), Netflix, and the Dubai Films and Games Commission, presenting curated screenings of women in film. A Regional Filmmakers Session will also be held with Emirati filmmakers Abdulla Al Kaabi, Nawaf Al Janahi, and Hana Kazim. Latifa Khoory from the Dubai Media Council will moderate the session.
