Dragonfly Energy Lands $300K Grant to Boost Nevada Manufacturing, Jobs

Dragonfly Energy, in collaboration with Nevada Tech Hub, has received a significant grant to boost manufacturing and workforce development in Nevada. The project, backed by the U.S. Department of Energy, aims to create high-value jobs and drive long-term economic growth across the state.

The project, worth approximately $300,000, will fund manufacturing upgrades and workforce development initiatives. Dragonfly Energy plans to use the funds to advance towards ISO 9001 certification, modernize production systems, and upgrade battery manufacturing lines. This will not only improve efficiency but also result in six-figure annual savings.

The project also focuses on expanding career opportunities in machining, automation, and maintenance. Dragonfly Energy, with the support of Nevada Tech Hub and local academic institutions like Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Reno, plans to recruit and upskill production floor personnel. Dick Bartholet, regional innovation officer for Nevada Tech Hub, expressed that supporting industry leaders like Dragonfly Energy is central to their mission.

The initiative promises high-value jobs, advanced training opportunities, and significant cost savings, all contributing to Nevada's economic growth and innovation.
