Digital offerings by the city broaden, now encompassing online auctions for valuable assets

In a significant step towards digital transformation, the city of Halle (Saale) has expanded its online services, now allowing citizens to access a wide range of city administration tasks from the comfort of their homes.

Starting Tuesday, September 16, 2025, citizens can bid on lost and found items from Halle (Saale) online. The nationwide auction portal displays current lost and found items with photos after entering "Halle (Saale)" in the search bar. The lost and found items can be found under "Online Services" and "F" for "Lost and Found". The portal provides information about the start and end of each auction and the modalities of collection. A visit or telephone inquiry to the Lost and Found Office in Halle (Saale) is no longer necessary for online biddings.

The city's Department of Residents' Affairs has also expanded its online services. Citizens can now apply for appointments, reserve desired license plates, and even bid on lost and found items. Registration or changes to motor vehicles (re-registration) can be done online, as well as address changes and deregistration of motor vehicles. Simple and extended registration certificates can also be applied for online.

Mail-in voting materials can be requested online, among other things. Resident parking permits can be applied for, renewed, or replaced online as well. Forwarding blocks can be set up online, and the online bidding is available 24/7 from anywhere.

While the mayor responsible for the city administration's online service expansion is not explicitly named in the search results, the Oberbürgermeister (Lord Mayor) of Halle as of 2025 is Dr. Alexander Vogt. However, a Bürgermeister named Egbert Geier is mentioned in other city-related roles but not explicitly in charge of online services.

Direct access to the service is available here: www.ourwebsite. The city encourages all citizens to take advantage of these new online services for a more convenient and efficient city administration experience.
