Deutsche Telekom Expands Fiber Optic Network in Stuttgart's Degerloch

Deutsche Telekom is enhancing the internet infrastructure in Stuttgart's Degerloch district, aiming to provide high-speed, reliable connectivity to homes and businesses. This expansion is part of a broader effort to meet the growing demand for faster and more robust digital communication services.

Faster Internet Speeds and Improved Reliability

With the fiber optic expansion, households and businesses can expect significantly higher internet speeds, enabling smoother streaming, quicker downloads, and more efficient online activities. Fiber optic technology offers more stable connections with less interference compared to older copper networks, reducing downtime and connectivity issues.

Support for Modern Applications

The enhanced bandwidth supports advanced applications such as smart home devices, remote work, cloud computing, and high-definition video conferencing. This development will empower residents and businesses to take advantage of the latest digital technologies.

Economic Growth and Future-Proofing

Improved digital infrastructure can lead to increased productivity and attract new investment in the region. Fiber optics provide scalable solutions that can accommodate future technological advances and higher data demands, ensuring long-term connectivity solutions.

A Partnership-Based Expansion

The focus of the Gigabit project is the partnership-based expansion of the ultra-fast fiber optic network. The Gigabit Region Stuttgart GmbH (GRS) is a partner in the fiber optic expansion in Stuttgart, working alongside Deutsche Telekom.

Community Support and Collaboration

Martin Buchau, deputy district mayor of Degerloch, is pleased that the further expansion of the fiber optic network in Degerloch will make the district more future-oriented. Sabine Wittlinger, Telekom's partner manager for the Stuttgart region, explains that more addresses will be added in the supported expansion this year. The city of Stuttgart and Telekom are working closely together on the expansion to minimise inconvenience for residents.

Stuttgart's Special Focus

The city of Stuttgart is a special focus for the fiber optic expansion progress in the region. Currently, 178 municipalities, including the city of Stuttgart and the five neighboring districts, are involved in the expansion program. By 2030, 90 percent of all households should have access to a fiber optic connection. By the end of 2025, 50 percent of households and all companies, as well as schools in the region, should have fast internet access.

Booking a Fiber Optic Connection

Interested parties can book a fiber optic connection at the Deutsche Telekom Flagship Store or Shop in Stuttgart, or on the website [www.telekom.de/glasfaser]. Other companies are also active in the fiber optic expansion in the Stuttgart region.

This expansion aims to foster digital development in Degerloch, enhancing the quality of life for residents and the competitiveness of local businesses.

Data-and-cloud-computing applications and technology will benefit immensely from the fiber optic expansion in Stuttgart's Degerloch district, as the improved internet infrastructure promises faster and more reliable connectivity. This advancement in technology supports the modern requirements of smart home devices, remote work, and cloud computing.
