Scene: A Revolution in Wireless Connectivity

Decentralized Wireless Network Helium, powered by Solana, unveils partnership with telecommunications giant AT&T.

Cutting-edge decentralized wireless network Helium, partners with telecom titan AT&T to deliver wireless access to its customers.

AT&T subscribers will soon tap into a vast network of hotspots powered by Helium's community-driven, decentralized network. This collaboration paves the way for AT&T to boost coverage, especially in areas where traditional infrastructure falters.

Helium's co-founder Amir Haleem exuded optimism, stating their collaboration with AT&T was a monumental stride towards their mission to make wireless connectivity accessible to the masses.

"Hotspots, functioning as mini cell towers, have so far assisted nearly 700,000 daily users with coverage, according to world.helium.com" [1]. With AT&T's expansive subscriber base of more than 118 million mobile users [2], hotspot owners stand to benefit significantly.

"Mobile hotspot owners will see an influx of new users, as AT&T subscribers connect to nearby hotspots," said Mario Di Dio, GM of network for Helium. As traffic escalates, hotspot owners will rewarded for data transfer [3].

The collaboration between Helium and AT&T will extend beyond this deal, as Helium aims to partner with more U.S. and global carriers, making AT&T a crucial strategic collaborator in their global expansion efforts.

Previously, Helium Mobile collaborated with Telefónica, deploying hotspots in Mexico City and Oaxaca, expanding Telefónica's coverage in Mexico. Pushing forward, they provided network access to more than 2.3 million Movistar subscribers in Mexico, Telefónica's flagship mobile carrier [4].

This alliance, a game-changer in wireless connectivity, demonstrates how decentralized networks can complement traditional carriers, offering a robust, cost-efficient alternative to conventional cellular deployments.
