The long-awaited iPhone 17 has finally made its debut in the UK, going on sale this Friday. The product was officially unveiled on September 9, 2025, at an Apple event in Cupertino, with Tim Cook, the company's president (CEO), leading the proceedings.

This year's release sees the launch of not only the iPhone 17 but also several other new products. These include the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, Apple Watch SE 3, and the third-generation AirPods Pro.

The iPhone 17 promises several exciting features for its users. It boasts an updated front camera, 256GB of storage, and all-day battery life. According to Kaiann Drance, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, the bigger and brighter ProMotion display, all-day battery life with faster charging, the A19 chip for powerful performance, a 48MP Dual Fusion camera system, and the innovative Centre Stage front camera are key features of the iPhone 17.

Michael Issott, a 24-year-old from Bournemouth, was one of the many eager customers who queued up for the iPhone 17. Mr. Issott, who has been getting the latest iPhone annually for the past four years, expressed his excitement about the enhanced front-facing camera and improved battery of the iPhone 17. In fact, he views the iPhone 17 as a birthday present for himself, as the release day of the iPhone 17 tends to fall around his birthday.

The iPhone 17 is available in a variety of colours, including lavender and sage, catering to a wide range of tastes. Customers queued as early as 5am on Regent Street in London to get their hands on the new device.

Interestingly, some customers, like Taras from Russia, were queuing not for personal use but for the purpose of re-selling the iPhone 17.

With its impressive features and wide appeal, the iPhone 17 is set to make a significant impact in the market. For those who have been waiting in anticipation, the iPhone 17 is now available in stores across the UK.
