Cost of Electric Family Cars: A Look at the Numbers
The automotive world is abuzz with the introduction of new electric vehicles (EVs), and we've gathered some of the most exciting models currently making waves. Let's dive in!
First up, the Hyundai Ioniq 9. This spacious SUV boasts a sleek design, with two 12.3-inch displays tilted towards the driver for easy access. The Ioniq 9 is quiet, with a low noise level, and its 110 kWh battery can charge to 250 kW of direct current at a fast charger, reducing charging breaks to just 24 minutes. The Ioniq 9 can seat up to seven passengers and starts at least at €60,000.
Next, let's talk about the Opel Grandland. This versatile EV impresses with its powerful 157 kW engine, low noise levels, and well-equipped suspension, making it perfect for family travel. The Grandland's space is generous, with comfortable seats and numerous storage compartments. Navigation and entertainment are controlled via a central touchscreen, and the cargo space behind the tailgate ranges from 550 to 1,645 liters. The electric version of the Opel Grandland starts at €46,750, and leasing options are available for around €500 per month.
The Opel Grandland also stands out for its easy-to-read instruments, with a small instrument cluster and a useful head-up display. The direct steering feels great at low speeds and on the highway, making the Grandland a joy to drive.
Moving on, we have the Lucid Gravity Grand Touring, expected to roll out in Europe in the fourth quarter of the year. The Gravity Grand Touring is driven by two electric motors that together develop 611 kW or 831 PS and an intimidating torque of 1,232 Nm. Its battery has a capacity of 123 kWh, with a maximum charging power of 400 kW. The top-of-the-line Electric GS version with the 82-kWh battery will cost at least €51,950.
Last but not least, the Porsche Macan Electric. Developed by the German automaker Porsche, this fully electric Macan model is based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) shared with Audi. The exact release date is yet to be announced, but it's expected to be introduced in August 2023.
