Computer manufacturer Super Micro experienced a rally in its stock prices today.

Digi Power X, a newly-formed company making waves in the tech industry, has announced a significant partnership with Super Micro Computer. This collaboration aims to transition Digi Power X from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure, with Super Micro Computer serving as the exclusive server partner for the development of modular AI data centers.

The partnership will centre around Digi Power X's NeoCloud Tier 3 AI infrastructure platform, which will utilise Supermicro’s NVIDIA B200-powered systems integrated into their proprietary ARMS 200 pods. The setup is designed to generate substantial recurring revenue through GPU cloud rentals available via Digi Power X’s NeoCloud portal.

The modular AI data centers, based on Super Micro Computer's ARMS 200 platform, support high-density GPU clusters. Each pod can deliver up to 1 MW of compute capacity and accommodate up to 256 NVIDIA B200/B300 GPUs. The flagship project for this collaboration will be deployed in Columbiana, Alabama, with a launch date set for Q1 2026. The initial orders are expected to be completed by Q4 2025.

Digi Power X aspires to scale up to 40 MW of critical power, potentially hosting over 10,000 NVIDIA GPUs. The company plans an aggressive expansion, targeting 55 MW of Tier 3 AI infrastructure by 2026-2027. To achieve this growth, Digi Power X is exploring non-dilutive debt financing to preserve shareholder equity and target a payback period under three years.

This strategic pivot from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure marks a transformation for Digi Power X. By leveraging underutilized energy assets and partnering with Super Micro Computer, they aim to create scalable, modular AI data center pods. The platform will utilise the latest NVIDIA Blackwell architecture for advanced AI workloads, providing high-performance computing at scale.

The potential impact of this partnership is far-reaching. By deploying high-density modular data centers faster and more flexibly compared to traditional builds, Digi Power X could establish itself as a significant player in the AI infrastructure market. The scalable expansion offered by modular pods allows for efficient growth from small fractions of MW to multi-megawatt facilities.

The partnership also aims to generate recurring revenue via GPU cloud rentals, addressing the strong demand for AI compute capacity. This move is expected to drive value for shareholders through planned non-dilutive financing, rapid payback forecasts, and positioning in AI's high-growth market.

However, the success of this partnership will depend on execution risks related to large-scale infrastructure deployment, competition in AI cloud markets, and dependency on Supermicro and NVIDIA hardware components. Despite these challenges, the collaboration signifies a transformative approach by leveraging modular data centers powered by cutting-edge AI GPUs with significant growth potential in AI data center markets.

In related news, Digi Power X has issued a press release about a provisional utility patent application for its new ARMS 200 modular data center platform. Supermicro, with its own modular "Data Center Building Block Solutions (DCBBS)" technology, may play a crucial role in the implementation of this platform. Supermicro's CEO, Charles Liang, will provide technology and financial updates when the company reports earnings on Aug. 5.

As Digi Power X and Super Micro Computer forge ahead, they are set to make a significant impact on the AI and crypto infrastructure ecosystems, with local deployments planned in Alabama and Upstate New York. The company aspires to become a new neocloud similar to CoreWeave or Nebius, further solidifying its position in the competitive AI landscape.
