Collaborative endeavor: G.A.S. and BMZ amplify digital expertise in the open marketplace
BMZ Group and G.A.S. Collaborate to Revolutionise Battery Service
In a significant move towards the future of electric mobility, BMZ Group and G.A.S. have announced a collaboration aimed at enhancing battery service for electric vehicles.
Based in Karlstein am Main, Lower Franconia, BMZ Group is a leading provider of 'electrifying solutions' for all electro-powered means of transport. With a workforce of over 2,500 employees, the company supplies entire markets and industries, positioning itself as a 'Green Energy System Provider'.
G.A.S., with production sites in various countries including China, Poland, USA, North Macedonia, Brazil, and branches in Japan, UK, France, among others, has contracted 1,700 qualified service workshops in Germany. The company, known for its nationwide workshop network, will now be responsible for setting up, qualifying, and managing a workshop network for BMZ's battery service orders.
The collaboration between the two companies is expected to provide a significant advantage for G.A.S. in the accident repair of motor vehicles. By repairing battery components instead of full replacements, they aim to achieve significant cost savings, a benefit highlighted by the CEOs of G.A.S. and BMZ Germany.
The first major service partners selected in this cooperation are companies within G.A.S.'s workshop network. These workshops will undergo transformation into comprehensive qualification and certification programs for electric service competence centers. They will be equipped with diagnostic equipment, special tools, charging infrastructure, and trained in high-voltage systems, battery technology, and specific repair procedures for electric vehicles.
In addition, the joint projects between G.A.S. and BMZ aim to establish standardized processes, qualify and certify technicians, ensure spare parts availability, optimise logistics, jointly develop quality standards, and create IT interfaces.
SchadenBusiness EUROGARANT AutoService AG is experiencing intense times in accident damage management, and this collaboration could provide a solution to one of the industry's biggest cost problems: the recyclability of battery systems. SchadenBusiness ZF Aftermarket and G.A.S./DMS are also collaborating to increase transparency in parts costs during accident repair.
BVdP is actively shaping claim management, and this collaboration could have far-reaching implications for the insurance industry. With a nationwide service network for battery systems now in the works, the future of electric vehicle repair and maintenance is looking brighter than ever.
