Chery's QQ Ice Cream EV Teased: New Rival for Wuling Hongguang Mini EV
Chery has unveiled the first teaser image of its new electric vehicle, the QQ Ice Cream, set to open reservations on August 24 and hit the market this year. This model marks the first step in Chery's iCar ecology, promising a fresh consumer experience.
The QQ Ice Cream, a pure electric model, has been spotted on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) filing list. It retains the charming design of the classic Chery QQ, featuring semicircular headlights and a charging port tucked beneath the central logo.
Set to rival the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, the QQ Ice Cream is expected to fall within the same price range, slightly above RMB 30,000. Powering this compact EV is a 20kw electric motor, offered in both lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium battery variants. With dimensions of 2,980/1,496/1,637mm and a wheelbase of 1,960mm, the QQ Ice Cream is larger than its Hongguang counterpart.
Chery's QQ Ice Cream, developed as part of their new energy vehicle series, is poised to challenge the Mini EV market. With its cute design, competitive pricing, and larger size, the QQ Ice Cream is set to make a splash in the electric vehicle scene when it becomes available later this year.
