Chery's QQ Ice Cream EV Starts Pre-Sales, Promises Affordable Range
Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., a Chinese car manufacturer, has announced the QQ Ice, an electric vehicle (EV) set to hit the market soon. The car, priced between RMB 29,900 ($4,700) and RMB 43,900, is the first offering from Chery's new eco-friendly iCar Eco brand, launched in June with Alibaba Cloud's support.
The QQ Ice, larger than the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, measures 2,980/1,496/1,637mm with a wheelbase of 1,960mm. It offers two range options, 120 km and 170 km NEDC, powered by an electric motor with 20kw max power, 85 Nm peak torque, and a top speed of 100 km/h. Pre-sales have begun, with an official launch expected in November.
Chery sees the QQ Ice as the first step in its iCar ecology, aiming to provide a new life experience for consumers. Meanwhile, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, a competitor, sold 35,169 units in September, a 75% year-on-year increase.
The Chery QQ Ice, priced affordably, offers a range of features and is now open for pre-sale. With an official launch in November, it promises to be a significant addition to China's EV market, following the success of competitors like the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV.
