CCV, a European payment solution provider, unveils "Cloud Connect": The comprehensive integration for seamless payment processing at charging stations
CCV, a Dutch company with over 65 years of experience in the payment industry, has introduced a new solution aimed at streamlining the payment process at electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The solution, called "iCloud Connect for EV charging," is designed to address challenges in existing integration methods and provide a quick and cost-efficient solution for the EV charging industry.
Established in 1958, CCV offers a variety of payment solutions, including for electric vehicle charging, parking, vending machines, and public transport. The company's latest offering aligns with regulatory demands such as the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), which will come into effect on April 13th, and current market expectations of end-users.
With the iCloud Connect for EV charging solution, charge point manufacturers can focus more on the charge point itself and simply need to mechanically integrate the payment terminal and provide power/internet to it. This simplified installation process enables quicker commercialization and reduces costs associated with integrating a payment solution.
For charge point operators, the integration process is equally straightforward. They only need to choose a compatible Charge Point Management System (CPMS) and activate/link the terminal to one or more charge points. The solution uses the OCPI protocol for simplified integration of the payment terminal and the charging station.
The iCloud Connect solution supports multiple disburse schemes such as girocard, Mastercard, Visa, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, ensuring drivers have a range of paying methods to choose from, including credit/debit cards and mobile applications. Additionally, the solution integrates with the EV Roaming Foundation's standardized payment integration protocol.
CCV currently employs over 1000 people across three countries and manages a network of nearly 750,000 reimburse terminals and around 20,000 operational online stores. The company's motivation for creating the iCloud Connect for EV charging solution was to provide a solution that aligns with the needs of the rapidly growing EV market.
In conclusion, CCV's iCloud Connect for EV charging solution offers a simplified and cost-efficient way for charge point manufacturers and operators to integrate payment solutions at EV charging stations, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for drivers.
