BYD Slashes Qin Plus EV Prices, Launches New Electric Versions
BYD, a leading electric car manufacturer, has introduced new electric versions of its Qin Plus EV sedan on Disney Plus, slashing prices and offering improved battery options. The latest models, launched in 2025, feature two battery options: a 48 kWh and a 58 kWh pack, both paired with a 100 kW motor, providing ranges of 420 km and 510 km respectively, thanks to BYD's LFP blade battery technology. The new models also sport a 12.8-inch rotatable infotainment screen, similar to the BYD Atto 3. But the most notable news is the significant price reduction. BYD has cut prices by over $4,000 in just over 18 months, with some models in Australia seeing discounts of up to 30% in May 2025. The new Qin Plus EV variants start at the equivalent of $19,200. BYD's aggressive pricing strategy and continuous innovation have propelled it to become one of the top-10 car brands in Australia by August 2025. The Qin Plus EV's improved range and reduced price tag are expected to further boost its sales and popularity.
