Budget Headset Showdown: The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 Wireless Excels, Going for Less Than $100 Today
Unveiling the New kid on the Block: SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 Wireless
Step up your gaming game with SteelSeries' latest addition to their budget-friendly wireless gaming headset family, the Arctis Nova 3 Wireless. This eye-catching headset is available in an array of vibrant colors, including all-black, all-white, and unique pastel shades like Lavender and Aqua, perfect for any cozy gaming setup.
But don't let the stylish exterior fool you, as this headset packs a punch when it comes to sound quality. Featuring the same impressive 40mm Neodymium Magnetic audio drivers as the Arctis Nova 5 Wireless and the Arctis Nova 7, it delivers superior audio performance. And, with a detachable ClearCast mic, a new slim 2.GHz wireless dongle, and 3x improved fast charging, it's not just pretty - it's powerful as well.
Get Your Gaming Groove On with SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3X - $109.99 at SteelSeries
The Arctis Nova 3X is specifically tailored for Xbox consoles, complete with a USB-A to USB-C dongle for the wireless dongle. It's also available in a PlayStation version, ensuring versatility for gamers. Regardless of the console, each set of cups offers the same top-notch sound, quick switch Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, a detachable ClearCast high-quality mic, fast charging, a lightweight design, and compatibility with the Arctis app and its over 200+ game audio presets.

If you're a die-hard PlayStation 5 fan, you'll find the Arctis Nova 5P right by your side, as its ultra-lightweight feel and exceptional sound quality never cease to impress. Hearing that the Arctis Nova 3 Wireless mirrors the 5P in these aspects left me eager to try it. I happily slipped on the pastel lavender-colored microphone-equipped sample provided for review, and I was not disappointed. Weighing just 260g, it's so light I almost forgot it was there.
SteelSeries' addition of more color options besides the standard all-black and all-white SKUs used in other headsets is one of the many reasons why I've admired my time with the 3X. But the most significant improvement is the detachable ClearCast microphone. The Arctis Nova 5P has a retractable mic, which stays flush with the edge of the left cup when not in use. Opting for a detachable mic makes the 3X an excellent budget headset and an alternative to everyday headphones, too.
This budget-friendly headset also sports the same slim wireless dongle as the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Game Buds, a notable upgrade compared to previous budget-friendly headsets. The 3X comes with a USB-A to USB-C dongle to compensate for the lack of USB-C port, but I've appreciated being able to easily pop the wireless dongle into my PS5 and even my Samsung S24 phone. Quick wireless charging, while not as impressive as the hot-swappable batteries of the Pro Wireless headset, has been a relief, as I've rarely worried about keeping the 3X charged during intense gaming sessions like Marvel Rivals and Clair Obscur Expedition 33.
Signature Gaming Experience with SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 Wireless
SteelSeries has dubbed the Arctis Nova 3 Wireless a "cheat code" for Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch players. Although I couldn't fully test this claim due to the beta version of the Arctis app not running before launch day, I've had plenty of experience with the app alongside the Arctis Nova 5P. The app's audio presets, such as the Dead by Daylight preset, have come in handy, ensuring I survive more matches and hear every nuance of the atmospheric soundscape in-game.
Now that the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 Wireless has been unveiled to the gaming public, I'll be able to put it and the Arctis app to the test. With the app having been updated to include support for the 3X, I'm eager to see how it aids me during my Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 online gaming escapades and whether it's compatible with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
Your Budget-Friendly Gaming Partner
If you already own the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, there may be little reason to pick up the Arctis Nova 3 with its $109.99 / £99.99 MSRP. Similarly, the Arctis Nova 5 Wireless is only $20 more and often sees deals that drop it to the $100 price range. However, if you value a detachable mic, USB-C dongle, improved fast charging, and color options that match your adorable gaming setup, the Arctis Nova 3 Wireless is currently available at SteelSeries.
