Boviet Solar Boosts U.S. Presence with 1 GW Module Expansion, Creating 1,300 Jobs
Boviet Solar has bolstered its U.S. presence with significant expansions in both cell and module production. The company has completed a third module production line in Greenville, N.C., adding 1 GW of annual capacity, and is on track to start volume production at its second phase solar cell manufacturing facility next year.
The latest developments come as the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) reports 2 GW of domestic solar cell production capacity is currently operational, with another 19.3 GW in the pipeline. Boviet Solar's announcements are seen as encouraging signs for domestic solar production in the U.S.
Boviet Solar's Greenville facility is set to become a major hub, with a total of 3 GW in solar module production capacity now operational. The company is also installing 3 GW of solar cell capacity at the site. Once all production phases are online, Boviet Solar expects to create an additional 1,300 highly qualified local jobs, contributing significantly to the region's economy.
Founded in Vietnam in 2013, Boviet Solar has invested a total of $400 million in its Greenville production site. With its recent expansions, the company is poised to play a significant role in the growth of the U.S. solar industry, driving domestic solar production and creating high-skill jobs.
