BMW Unveils 2025 X3 With Plug-In Hybrid and Powerful Six-Cylinder Diesel
BMW has revealed the 2025 X3, offering a range of powertrains and colors to cater to diverse European markets. The popular SUV arrives with a plug-in hybrid option, along with two diesel engines, including a potent six-cylinder variant exclusive to Europe.
The 2025 BMW X3 introduces a plug-in hybrid powertrain for European customers, complementing the existing 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 197 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The X3 40d xDrive, featuring a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, delivers an impressive 303 hp and 670 Nm of torque. This model accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 245 km/h, with an official WLTP combined consumption of 6.7 L/100 km.
BMW offers the 2025 X3 in a variety of paint colors, including metallic, frozen, and solid finishes. One standout shade is Tanzanite Blue II, a deep blue hue that has become an all-time favorite among BMW enthusiasts. Despite its popularity, the X3 40d xDrive will not be available in the U.S., catering instead to strong demand for diesel engines in Southern European markets like Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
