BMW Launches Powerful 2025 X3 40d in Europe
BMW is launching the new X3 40d in Europe in 2025, focusing on markets where premium SUVs and diesel engines remain significant. Key regions include Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Nordics.
The 2025 BMW X3 40d xDrive boasts a 3.0-liter inline-six diesel engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, generating 303 hp and 670 Nm (495 lb-ft) of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 245 km/h, with an official WLTP combined consumption of 6.7 L/100 km.
The X3 40d will be available in various paint colors, including metallic, frozen, and solid finishes, with Tanzanite Blue II being one of BMW's iconic deep blue shades. The X3 20d xDrive, paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, offers a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 197 hp and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Additionally, a plug-in hybrid variant is available in Europe.
BMW caters to diverse European markets with the 2025 X3, offering a six-cylinder diesel engine where demand is high. Despite the X3 40d not coming to the U.S., it strengthens BMW's position in Europe, meeting customer preferences for powerful, efficient SUVs.
