Blockchain gaming gets a boost as Oasys teams up with KDDI for integration.
In a groundbreaking move, Oasys, a leading blockchain platform specializing in gaming, has integrated with "αU market" and "αU Wallet," two services provided by KDDI Corp, one of Japan's top three telecom companies. This collaboration is set to redefine the way users interact with blockchain games and decentralized applications (dApps).
The integration allows users to sell Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on Oasys through the "αU market" and manage their NFTs on Oasys using the "αU wallet." This integration is significant as it opens up access to KDDI's extensive user base for developers building on Oasys. Users can also transfer and store OAS tokens, the platform's native cryptocurrency.
Both Oasys and KDDI share a passion for blockchain and Web3 technology. KDDI's involvement in Oasys' HACKJAM hackathon in Tokyo from June to July this year helped grow Oasys' ecosystem. KDDI took part as judges in the hackathon, further solidifying their support for the blockchain platform.
KDDI's partnership with Oasys follows their launch of their metaverse and Web3 service called "αU (Alpha You)" in March. Their goal is to create a world where anyone can be a creator. In an interview for Mugenlabo magazine, representatives from Oasys and KDDI discussed their partnership, emphasizing the importance of incorporating a Web3-style service into a blockchain that isn't tied to any specific game.
Oasys finds strong support in KDDI's telecommunications sector experience, as it aims to connect traditional Web2 and emerging Web3 gaming. As part of their broader Web3 efforts, KDDI has become a network validator for Oasys. This means KDDI will provide infrastructure and content-related partnerships for Oasys.
Moreover, Oasys will utilize KDDI's expertise in combining new technologies and communication to create experiences using 5G communication and AR/MR technologies. Shunpei Tatebayashi, an executive at KDDI, spoke about the partnership with Oasys in an interview with Mugenlabo magazine.
This collaboration further strengthens both Oasys and KDDI's positions in the growing world of blockchain games and dApps. The move is expected to drive the widespread adoption of blockchain gaming to new levels of popularity. The partnership between these two giants promises an exciting future for blockchain technology and gaming.
