Bitcoin in Bundestag Kicks Off, Educating MPs on Crypto's Impact

On February 22, the German Bundestag hosted the inaugural event of 'Bitcoin in Bundestag' (BiB), an initiative aimed at educating members of parliament and political decision-makers about Bitcoin and its societal impact. Around 200 attendees, including Finance Committee members, made the event a success.

Founded by independent MP Joana Cotar, BiB seeks to ensure Bitcoin remains a relevant topic in the Bundestag and potentially forms a parliamentary group. The kick-off event featured lectures exploring Bitcoin's influence on political, economic, and ecological areas. Speakers included the founder of Blocktrainer.de and co-founder of Terahash Energy, along with his business partner, the CEO of Terahash Energy.

The event was not limited to discussions; attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, underscoring Bitcoin's significance as a political topic. BiB plans to continue its event series, providing a platform for exchange and debate on Bitcoin's diverse aspects. The published videos of the event allow the broader public to stay informed about the discussions and insights shared.

The 'Bitcoin in Bundestag' initiative has laid a solid foundation for a well-informed and factual debate on Bitcoin and digital currencies in the German political discourse. With the successful kick-off event, BiB has demonstrated its commitment to fostering understanding and dialogue around this emerging technology.
