AWS and Pega have agreed to a five-year collaboration for modernizing legacy systems, referred to as "legacy transformation."

Pegasystems and Amazon Web Services Collaborate to Accelerate Legacy Modernization

Pegasystems Inc. and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced a five-year collaboration aimed at accelerating legacy modernization projects. This partnership combines Pega products with AWS services like Amazon Bedrock and AWS Transform, along with Pega Blueprint™, a cloud-based AI-powered application design tool.

According to John Higgins, the chief of client and partner success at Pega, this collaboration is a significant step towards empowering organizations to use generative AI for legacy application transformation. Chris Grusz, the managing director of technology partners at AWS, comments that the collaboration combines AWS AI-powered modernization capabilities with Pega's expertise in enterprise workflow transformation, providing customers with powerful tools for escaping technical debt without disrupting business operations.

The collaboration aims to enable clients to use Pega products with AWS advanced generative AI services. AWS Transform, a service from Amazon Web Services, is mentioned as a key tool in the collaboration for accelerating clients' journey to the cloud. Chris Grusz, in a statement, declared that generative AI is revolutionizing what customers can build in the cloud and is fundamentally changing how quickly and seamlessly they can get to the cloud.

Under this new agreement, Pega and AWS will use AWS Transform and Pega Blueprint to accelerate clients' journey to the cloud. A recent Pega survey found that more than two-thirds of IT decision makers in global enterprises say outdated legacy systems and applications are preventing them from embracing technologies like artificial intelligence and automation.

The partnership between Pegasystems and AWS is expected to enable partners to differentiate their services by infusing their IP and best practices into Pega Blueprint to transform legacy applications. Infosys Cobalt, Infosys' industry leading cloud offering built on AWS, is expected to benefit from the integration of Pega Platform and Pega Blueprint.

Pega will integrate Amazon Bedrock as the primary generative AI foundation powering Pega Blueprint and Pega Platform. Clients can securely use generative AI large language models from companies including Anthropic, Amazon, Cohere, Meta, and more with Amazon Bedrock.

The collaboration between Pega and AWS is not mentioned to include any specific new services or tools beyond those already mentioned. However, it does affirm Pega's commitment to selling in AWS Marketplace as the preferred transaction mechanism for Pega-as-a-Service. The collaboration also enables Pega to offer comprehensive migration services and tools for on-premises clients transitioning to Pega-as-a-Service, as stated by Manas Kumar Sarkar, the vice president of the enterprise application integration service at Infosys.

Overall, the collaboration between Pegasystems Inc. and Amazon Web Services aims to transform how enterprises modernize legacy systems by combining AI-powered automation and cloud-native platforms, thus unlocking new agility and innovation potential previously constrained by outdated IT infrastructure.
