Avenged Sevenfold's Synyster Gates Unveils SG-22 Universal Pedal Platform Amp
Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates is back with a new tube amp head and cab, the SG-22, under his Synner brand. The 175-watt head is designed to maximize the potential of pedalboard or rack effects systems in a clean, user-friendly format.
The SG-22 is a clean amp tailored for pedalboards and rack-mount effects, featuring a clean, transparent, high-headroom preamp, a post-preamp effects loop with Line Level and Instrument Level modes, and a three-band EQ. It houses three 12AX7A / ECC83 tubes and two 6V6GT tubes in the head, while the open-back cab houses a single Celestion V-Type 12 speaker. The amp also comes with two built-in power supplies and can affect the cab for added security.
Gates co-developed the SG-22 with engineer Don Morris, and it's the first amplifier authenticated on the blockchain. The guitarist, known for his signature Hellwin amp with Schecter in 2013, has returned to the world of tube amps with this latest release. The SG-22 Universal Pedal Platform Amplifier is priced at $1,199 and comes with 20,000 Deathbat Reward points for merch and tickets.
The SG-22 is not just an amp; it's a platform for guitarists to explore their tonal possibilities. With its clean preamp, versatile effects loop, and EQ, it's a powerful tool for those who like to shape their sound with pedals. And with its blockchain authentication, it's a piece of musical history in the making.
