Automobile Industry Updates Featuring OMINIVISION, IEE, Aperia, Mativ, and Miru

In the rapidly evolving world of autonomous vehicles, two significant advancements are making headlines. On one hand, companies are focusing on low-latency video displays to enhance real-time perception and decision-making capabilities. On the other hand, tire management systems are being revolutionized to optimize fleet maintenance and safety.

Leading the charge in low-latency video displays is Imagry, a company boasting a camera-only driverless system capable of sub-100 milliseconds latency, responding nearly three times faster than human drivers. Other key players include NVIDIA, whose platforms like the NVIDIA ORIN AGX are used for embedded real-time edge AI and video processing, and Infineon Technologies, offering semiconductor solutions with high-speed interfaces and low-latency automotive Ethernet.

Meanwhile, Aperia Technologies Inc. is revolutionizing tire management with its Halo Connect i3 system. The new capabilities include a tire tread diagnostics suite and remote tire pressure set point adjustment, aiming to optimize safety, uptime, and overall fleet efficiency. Aperia's new tread diagnostics suite delivers proactive tire service recommendations based on analyzed tread depth data.

IEE, a trusted provider of enhanced displays for over 75 years, is also making strides in the industry. Their factory in Sylmar, CA produces innovative displays with advanced features like low-latency video processing, high-bright and NVIS backlighting, and lightweight, ruggedized enclosures. IEE is exhibiting at the AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition, October 14-16, in booth #706, Hall A.

In the realm of energy-efficient glass, Miru's eWindow technology is gaining attention. This technology meets growing consumer and regulatory demands for curved, neutral-color, low-haze, and energy-efficient glass. In the residential and commercial sectors, eWindows significantly increase overall building energy efficiency, reducing energy usage by 20-40%, depending on geography and climate.

Finally, Mativ and Miru have announced a joint development agreement to commercialize a novel lamination interlayer for dynamic electrochromic windows. This partnership aims to simplify the manufacturing process and lower the cost of producing electrochromic windows for glass fabricators and automakers worldwide.

These advancements in low-latency video displays, real-time perception, and tire management are paving the way for safer, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly autonomous vehicles and smart buildings.
