Nuvei Announces Appointment of Two New Independent Directors to its Board
Nuvei, a leading digital and online payments company, has expanded its board to eight members with the addition of Tim Dent and Maren Lau. Both Dent and Lau bring extensive experience from the iGaming and tech industries, which the company believes will contribute significantly to its growth and strategic direction.
Tim Dent, a key figure from the iGaming industry, served as the lead financial executive and compliance officer of DraftKings. His tenure at DraftKings saw the company expand into the American market post-2018. Dent's previous role at Nuvei was as the Chief Operating Officer, and he is now returning to the company as an independent director.
Maren Lau, on the other hand, comes from the tech industry and held the position of Vice President at Meta in the Latin American region. Her responsibilities at Meta included facilitating various businesses to utilize Meta's platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook. Before her role at Meta, Maren Lau worked as the principal marketing specialist at a company that resulted from a partnership involving Sony.
Although the exact dates for when Maren Lau and Tim Dent will join Nuvei's board are not mentioned, the company is pleased to have them on board. Maren Lau's expertise in leveraging tech platforms is expected to be particularly beneficial, given Nuvei's digital focus.
Nuvei did not disclose any other changes to its board or management team in this announcement. The company remains optimistic about the future, with the appointments of Tim Dent and Maren Lau expected to bolster its growth strategies.
