Apple Debuted Its Official E-commerce Platform in Saudi Arabia
Apple has officially entered the Saudi Arabian market with the launch of its first online store on July 22, 2025. This move marks a significant shift from the company's previous reliance on third-party retailers, offering customers in Saudi Arabia the opportunity to purchase Apple products directly from Apple.
The online store, accessible through both the Apple Store app and the company's website, provides a fully Arabic-language shopping experience, catering to the region's local population. This localization extends to the delivery service, with next-day delivery supported by a new distribution center in Saudi Arabia, ensuring faster and more efficient order fulfillment.
In a bid to make the shopping experience even more personal, Apple offers free engraving in both Arabic and English, allowing customers to personalize products such as AirPods, Apple Pencil, and AirTag with text, emojis, and numbers. Additionally, flexible payment options are available, including a partnership with Saudi-based buy-now-pay-later platform Tamara, enabling payment in four interest-free monthly installments.
Looking ahead, Apple plans to open its first physical store in Saudi Arabia starting in 2026, with the first store expected to be located in Diriyah. This store launch is part of Apple’s broader strategy to deepen its presence across the Middle East, complementing existing retail locations in the UAE.
Apple's Senior Vice President of Retail and People, Deirdre O'Brien, highlighted that this move reflects Apple's growing commitment to the Saudi market and its passionate customer base. The company's long-term bet on local talent and app growth is evident in the Riyadh Developer Academy, which opened in 2021.
In summary, Apple's launch of its online store and app in Saudi Arabia offers easier access and a better shopping experience for Saudi users. The company's direct-to-consumer focus, coupled with localized perks like Tamara's buy-now-pay-later option and trade-in credits, could redefine tech retail in the Gulf. Apple's strategic focus on the Saudi market, its tech-savvy population, and growing economy presents a significant opportunity for the tech giant.
